Murdha taila belongs to the category of external application of oil to the head. This is also known by the name shirastarpana. In healthy persons it is either plain or medicated oil used in this procedure or oils may be selected according to the prakriti of the client and in diseased persons the oil processed with specific drugs that can cures the illness.

Shiro Abhyanga

Shiro Sheka
Continuous pouring of decoction, oil or other liquids on the forehead and then allow it to flow over the scalp using a special instrument dhara yantra is known as shiro sheka.
Benefits of Shiro Sheka
It helpful in curing Mental stress, Hypertension, dermatological condition like eruption, Pediculosis, Headache, anxiety, psychological illness, Insomnia, Mental Exhaustion etc. The process of pouring the liquid is carried out for about 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the nature of illness, is performed daily and continued for 7 to 14 Days.
Shiro Pichu
A simple procedure of applying the oil to the vertex using a cotton pad impregnated with medicated oil is known as shiro pichu.
Benefits of Shiro Pichu
