Shatkarma means shat “six” karma “action” the shatkarma consist of six groups of purification practices. The aim of hatha yoga and, therefore, of the shatkarma is to create harmony between the two major pranic flows, ida and pingala, thereby attaining physical and mental purification and balance

Hydro Therapy

The term hydrotherapy is derived from the Greek words Hydro-Water and Therapeia – Healing Hydro or aquatic therapy is a method of using the physical aspect of water for medical and relaxing treatments. Water has proved its medical significance for a very long time. The up-thrust or buoyancy is used for reducing the pressure effect of gravity on the skeletal structure. The human body reacts to the increased hydro-static pressure by dilating the arterial blood vessels. The resistance or drag of the water is a property, which is used for muscle strengthening. The force/speed relationship obeys the rules of isokinetic training of muscle power. The buoyancy of water minimizes the efforts of gravity on the weight bearing Joints, spinal column and ligaments. The entire therapy improves balance and coordination. Water is an excellent medium for applying temperature energy [warmth] and changes of temperature to the human body both local overall.

Upvaas Therapy

Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. The word id derived from the old English , ‘ Feastan’ means to fast, observe, be strict. In Sanskrit ‘ Vrath’ means ‘determination’ and ‘Upavasa’ means ‘ near to God’.A fast may be total or partial concerning that from which one fasts, and may be prolonged or intermittent as to the period of fasting. Fasting is an important treatment modality for health preservation. In fasting, mental preparedness is an essential pre-condition. Prolonged fasting should be done only under the supervision of a competent Naturopath.
